MacPhail's premier high school jazz combo, the Dakota Combo is an outstanding group of students selected through a live audition process. With generous support from the Dakota Foundation for Jazz Education, this group will rehearse and perform at various Twin Cities venues throughout the school year and summer jazz festivals in June and early July.

Under the direction of jazz artist Adam Linz, rehearsals will be held every other Thursday throughout the 2018-2019 school year. Auditions will be held on Sunday, September 16 from 12:30-4:00 pm. Based in north Minneapolis, MNYO is full of enthusiastic musicians who participate in group rehearsals, sectionals, and bucket drumming. This ensemble is open to students in grades 7-12, with one year experience on instrument, exceptions may apply. The orchestra will meet late-September 2018-May 2019, with exact dates tbd.

Help your child build on what they learned in Piano for Children. Continuing Piano for Children will focus on developing music reading skills on both the treble and bass clefs. Games, movement, rhythm and listening will be incorporated to strengthen the children's piano playing skills.
